Maricaban Island is GREAT for adventurous people. There's snorkeling, island hopping, you can even borrow a small boat and row on your own!
I feel excited whenever we go to the beach. This time, the way I felt when we arrived at the island was different. The adventure we experienced was exhilarating, I was amazed! I did not expect that there are more beautiful places and views in Batangas.
FIRST DAY
It took us an hour and a half to get to Anilao Port where we'll park our car and ride an aquabus to get to Maricaban Island. There's a mini market at the port where you can buy food to bring for your trip. Even from the port, the water and the view was already beautiful. Because of this, we took out our phones and took lots of pictures. It made us even more excited for Maricaban!![]() |

It was my first time to ride an aquabus. I thought it would be scary but when I got on, all my fears were gone. When it was time for us to enter the boat, we walked on a bridge connecting the boat to the port. It was shaky, I was afraid of walking on it because it felt like I was going to fall in the water but I'm glad I didn't.

We arrived 30 minutes early before the scheduled departure of the aquabus so to pass time, we went to the tail of the boat and had a mini photo shoot. 😁📸

When the aqua bus started to run we were amazed of the beautiful view! We continued to take a lot of pictures while we were on the ride.

The aquabus trip lasted for 45 minutes. After docking at Maricaban, we hiked for 15-20 minutes to reach the resort. Our stay at Encarnacion's Place, the resort in Maricaban Island that's owned by our family friend, was 3 days and 2 nights. When we arrived, we felt happy with our choice, their place is beautiful and relaxing! The place was clean, the beach was beautiful, and the staff was very accommodating. Even the resort owner, Tita Nessie, helped us with our stay. After settling in, we immediately changed to our swimsuits and ran to the beach. The water was clear and the sand was white! It drizzled lightly but it was gone after a few minutes.
SECOND DAY
We went island hopping the next day. Our first stop was Masasa Beach. We were surprised because the water and sand there was even better! I felt like I was in Boracay. We had so much fun we forgot to take pictures. 😅 We also snorkeled and saw a pawikan! 🐢![]() |

Our second stop was Sombrero Island where we continued snorkeling. There are a lot of corals, I also saw a school of fish. At first, I was afraid of because some of the fishes were already big. The water was very clear. Every island we went to still looked like a virgin island, like it hadn't been visited by a lot of people like the other islands. I hope I can go back there again before the people pollute it like they did to other islands here in the Philippines.

Our final stop was Sepoc Cave. The manongs who drove our boats told us this is where mermaid shows filmed. We relaxed here for a while and we caught small snails to cook for lunch. 😋

THIRD DAY
It felt sad to leave Maricaban on the third day. We continued swimming and enjoyed the few hours we have left before we leave at 1:30pm.We rode an aquabus again, but this time from Tingloy going to Anilao Port. I'm going to miss Maricaban Island and I hope to visit again!
